In the summer of 2011, Marc Ellison, a Canadian photojournalist, conducted an "anthropographia" (a form of visual storytelling) project with former “bush wives” struggling with reintegrating into their communities in Northern Uganda. He gave five women cameras and asked them to record their daily lives and stories and those of the 35 other women living in their community. The result was the interviews and stories available on the website “DwogPaco.” “Dwog Paco” translates to “come back home” in Acholi and it is also a name given to returnees from the Ugandan bush.
