The joint submission focuses on the issue of trafficking and exploitation of the prostitution of women and girls as a form of violence against women and girls. Trafficking and exploitation of the prostitution of women and girls is expressly prohibited by Article 6 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), which requires the UK “to take all appropriate measures, including legislation, to suppress all forms of traffic in women and exploitation of the prostitution of women.”

The Committee referenced this submission in their Concluding Observations
