The submission, based on consultation with Equality Now’s partners in Liberia including Women Solidarity Incorporated (WOSI) and the Association of Female Sociologists of Liberia (LAFSO), focuses on continued violations against women and girls, including female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual and gender-based violence in Liberia which is in violation of the equality, non-discrimination and equal protection of the law principles of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and discrimination in the nationality law which also directly violates the right to a nationality. The submission also focuses on the continued trafficking of women and girls for the purposes of sexual exploitation.
