Global Executive Director, Yasmeen Hassan, appeared on CNN on 28 July 2017 to share her expertise on the horrific case of tribal elders ordering the 'revenge rape' of a 17 year old Pakistani girl in retaliation for a rape that her brother had committed.

"What is coming out of Pakistan continues to shock me. What people can do to woman in the name of honor and treating women as property and not as human beings goes on and on...But legal change and cultural change go hand in hand and it’s only by making an example of these cases that we can change the culture. And it is very possible. When the government is on board culture change can follow legal change." - Yasmeen Hassan
