What is CSW at the United Nations?

March 11, 2019 marks the first day of the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. During the two weeks of CSW representatives of Member States, UN entities, and accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world gather together to  to promote equality and the empowerment of women and girls and review the status of implementation of international standards.

While many of the events at CSW are reserved for registered attendees, there are many parallel side events which are free and open to the public. Here are some of the open events that Equality Now will be involved in at CSW. (Here is a list of all parallel side events).

ERA: Moving the USA to Support Full Equality for All
