Impact of COVID-19 on violence against women and girls in Eurasia

The COVID-19 crisis has shown an urgent need for Governments in Eurasia to overcome violence and discrimination against women with strong legal and policy frameworks. 

The period of the pandemic and its aftermath is the chance for the Governments to uncover and recognize systemic abuses and oppression, which have gained a new force during the crisis. 

This policy paper highlights key legal and policy measures for governments across Eurasia to protect women and girls from sexual and domestic violence, exploitation in prostitution, address inequalities, and ensure access to justice.
