Antonia Kirkland is the Program Manager of the Discrimination in Law program. Prior to her current position, she was the Legal Advisor in the New York office of Equality Now from 2009 - 2015 after having been a Program Officer. She has worked in all of Equality Now’s program areas – Discrimination in Law, Sexual Violence, Trafficking and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) – contributes to many of the organization’s major publications, and facilitates Equality Now’s work at the United Nations. Prior to 2002, Ms. Kirkland was the coordinator of the Next Generation Leadership program at the Rockefeller Foundation, a consultant for Equality Now on a 2000 amicus brief for a case before the United States Supreme Court, and an intern in the Paris office of Shearman and Sterling, LLP. Ms. Kirkland holds a J.D. from Rutgers University Law School - Newark, a M.Sc. in Gender Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. in International Relations from Brown University.
