Alexandriah Muhanji

Alexandriah Muhanji joined Equality Now’s Nairobi office in January 2012 as the Discrimination in Law Program Officer  with special focus on the campaign for ratification and implementation of the Africa Union (AU) Protocol on the Rights of Women by Solidarity for African Women’s Rights’ (SOAWR). She has more than six years of experience working on human rights and women’s rights. Ms. Muhanji previously worked with the Kenya Women Judges Association, where she managed training programs for judicial officers on the promotion of gender equality through jurisprudence and law reform, and the Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya, where she implemented programs focusing on the domestication of international and regional human rights instruments key to women’s rights. She holds a bachelors degree in Law from Moi University, Kenya, and a Masters in Women’s Law from the Southern and Eastern Africa Regional Centre for Women’s Law from the University of Zimbabwe.
