Supporting Equality Now in the UK
“Equality Now is not only standing on the bank of the river, rescuing people who are drowning, but also going to the head of the river to try to see why people are falling in.”--Gloria Steinem

YOU CONTINUE TO AMAZE US WITH YOUR EXCITING IDEAS TO SUPPORT US!
“As some of you may know, I lost my wonderful brother last summer in a tragic climbing accident. I miss him more than I can express in words. Jack was passionate about so many things and wasn't afraid to voice his opinion, even if it was controversial. He believed in equality without compromise, which is why I have chosen to raise money for Equality Now as I'm sure he would approve.”
Thank you so much Anna for having the energy and enthusiasm to run and for allowing our work to benefit from it. We hope you do well!!

The Nineworlds Geekfest 2014 will take place at Heathrow, London, 8-10 August 2014!
Innovative and ground breaking, the con brings together a plethora of strands, from the more typical sci-fi tracks featuring comics, literature and film to Queer Fandom, Steampunk, Geek Feminism, Bronies, and a track devoted to all things Joss Whedon.
“The Whedon track at Nine Worlds has more sessions than you can shake a stake at, from panels and discussions, to singalongs and ... well, we don’t want to give all our surprises away! We like to think of people as either loving the Whedonverse, or just not having experienced it yet,” said track head and avid Whedon fan, Becky Ford. “So whichever group you belong to, we hope you’ll join us over the weekend for lots of Nine Worlds fun, burdened with glorious purpose!”

Payroll Giving / Give As You Earn:
Payroll Giving is one of the easiest ways for employees in the UK to make regular tax-free payments to charity directly from their pay - this means that money that would normally go to the Inland Revenue comes to us instead. For example, donating £10 a month to us would only cost you £8 if you are a 20% taxpayer and £6 if you pay tax at 40%. If you receive a company/personal pension through PAYE (Pay As You Earn) you can participate too. Payroll Giving makes a huge difference to the work we do and is a simple way to reduce the cost to you of making regular gifts to us.
Check with your payroll department to find out if your company offers Payroll Giving. If it does, decide how much you would like to contribute to Equality Now and fill out the form (link below); hand it in to your payroll department which will do the rest. Some employers will match the contribution you make and also pay the administration fees so Equality Now can benefit even more – Encouraging your employer to do this will make a real difference!
Sign up to Give As You Earn today - just fill in one simple form. If your employer is not signed up to Payroll Giving it is simple to set up. Please go to your payroll department and urge your employer to join up. You can find information on the HM Revenue and Customs website. More information is also available on the Charities Aid Federation website. Your support is crucial to our work, thank you.
Self Assessment Giving:
You can donate tax refunds to charity through your tax return. If you complete a tax return and are due a refund you can ask the Inland Revenue to send all or part of it to Equality Now – you can also add Gift Aid to this donation.
Your company can make a crucial contribution to Equality Now and work in partnership with us to protect and promote the human rights of women and girls worldwide. A charitable bequest is a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy that benefits women and girls around the world. Gifts left to a charity in a will are not included when valuing the estate for Inheritance Tax purposes. If you’d like more details on how we work please email: email@example.com

As well as generous donations from individuals, grants from trusts and foundations make an immense impact in the lives of women and girls who need our help every day.
