Equality Now collects information submitted online or otherwise for those registering to join the Women’s Action Network, making a contribution to Equality Now, or ordering Equality Now merchandise. The information collected for these purposes includes:

Occasionally members and donors will request that we send information about Equality Now or merchandise to their friends or colleagues, and they provide Equality Now with the contact information for these individuals. The information collected for these purposes includes:

This information is not shared publicly or with any third parties and is treated in the same manner as the information collected from members and donors.

How Equality Now Uses Information

Equality Now uses personal information provided to send out Women’s Action Campaigns, thank you letters for contributions made, responses to queries, requests for continuing support, and updates pertaining to the work of Equality Now. Equality Now honors all requests for anonymity and confidentiality. Otherwise, donors who contribute more than $1,000 (or equivalent) per year are publicly acknowledged in Equality Now’s Annual Report. Equality Now never shares the names of donors or members of its Women’s Action Network with other organizations.

Equality Now may occasionally use non-identifying and aggregate information. For example, X number of individuals visit our website per month, or Y number of individuals from a certain region of the world are members of our Women’s Action Network. Equality Now may also occasionally share publicly available contact information for organizations that are members of its Women’s Action Network around the world, to promote their work and facilitate direct contacts with them. Equality Now does not publicly disclose information that individually identifies members and supporters.
Occasionally members of the Women’s Action Network send copies of their email or postal correspondence with government officials regarding Women’s Action campaigns. Unless Equality Now is instructed otherwise, this correspondence may be publicized to highlight the work of Women’s Action Network members and to share information with other members of the Women’s Action Network regarding the ongoing dialogues that are taking place.

Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, Equality Now has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information collected online and otherwise.

Personal information is not stored online and cannot be publicly accessed online. To change or update personal information, Women’s Action Network members and Equality Now donors can find an online form at http://www.equalitynow.org by clicking on the Update Membership Profile link (under construction), or can email Equality Now at info@equalitynow.org.
