The 58th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 58) is taking place in New York from 10 to 21 March 2014. Representatives from Member States, UN entities and more than 6000 NGOs from 860 organizations around the world will attend and participate in meetings, panel discussions and events focused on recognizing the achievements and overcoming the challenges in pursuit of gender equality and advancement of women and girls worldwide. Adolescent girls: the Millennium Development Goals’ missing link
Presented by the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW)
Equality Now Senior Policy Advisor Shelby Quast will speak on the issue of child marriage, which affects around 14 million girls each year, and present Equality Now’s new child marriage report.

Equality Now Discrimination in Law Legal Advisor Antonia Kirkland will take part in an interactive panel alongside Janine Moussa from the Due Diligence Project & Daniela Rosche from Oxfam Novib. The panel will be moderated by Heather Barclay from the International Planned Parenthood Foundation, & a keynote address will be delivered by Sylvie Durrer, Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Gender Equality.
